info about these features or does anyone here have any do's or don'ts
regarding this feature? (using FP03)

Unless you know exactly what each option does, avoid them. Some of the
options can destroy a website.

The only universally safe option, in my opinion, is in the Remove Whitespace
section.
Remove leading whitespace

For *my* sites, I also remove Word HTML, Empty tags, Unused styles, and
Merge adjacent tags. These are suitable for me, but may have adverse
effects on other sites.

Since I use the published website as a backup for the local copy, every
other option will have a detrimental (some fatal) effect.

What about the claims that FP doesn't produce clean code? Does the "clean
html" affect that issue?

I picked this up in another forum a while back, maybe clean code is the wrong
phrase, (maybe cluttered or something similar) just popped back in my head
recently when I was publishing my site, after wondering about the optimize
html button.
As far as "clean html" goes, it is supposed to have an effect on the search
engine's algorithims, (again heresay, not solid fact) and could affect a
site's ranking. I was just wondering what the word is here in the lions den.

Search engines don't search for clean code. They look for page titles and
page content. Some *may* still look for meta tag descriptions and keywords.

Quite a few people who don't know what they're talking about !
Honestly, I constantly hear this from Macromedia Dreamweaver users. I
simply ask them to open one of my pages and take a look at the HTML in
them. Basic, plain and FAST !

Actually I think it was a Dreamweaver forum, HTML can be a matter of
perspective, I guess. To the beginner its all confusing and cluttered. To
the expert, well I don't know, I don't consider myself an expert. Any sites
out there that help you to understand what the difference might be?

What "difference" are you asking about?
