Hey,

Does someone know a site where I can find reviews about the
antivirus-products that are available. I'm searching for a new
antivirus-product but I would like to know what is the best of the
moment. Thanks.
Kind regards

KAV (Kaspersky AntiVirus). Strong Engine, (multiple) daily updates.

I like Eset NOD32, small, doesn't use a lot of resources, but look here for
a review:

That's right, it's really *very* fast. NOD32 Version 2.0 has got its
advantages, especially concerning Advanced Heuristic (AH):

<http://www.wilderssecurity.com/index.php?board=39;action=display;threadid=9776>

But: AH ist not enabled for AMON, the OnAccess background scanner. A
powerful unpacking engine is missing there.

So pay attention to encrypted worms and runtime packed malware (e.g.
Backdoors / Trojans, P2P-Worms, etc.).

Well, enable it , theres a "tick box" to use heuristics in the Amon
setup.
Quote
"There are two basic scanning methods supported by NOD32 Antivirus
System modules, including AMON:
Signatures - Signature scanning relies on analysis of previously known
viruses and their corresponding patterns in a signature database.
Heuristics - Are sophisticated algorithms which allow detection of yet
unknown viruses". Unquote.

That's not a review site , that's a "rating" site. Not only that, it's
a simple pass/fail. That's far too simplistic to use in choosing a
product.

Maybe I'm reading that site wrong but it seems like they don't want to
give you any "review" information or provide backup for their
pass/fail tests unless you sibscribe for $300/year.
Certainly within their rights, but not a useful site without a
subscription.

Try... <http://www.virusbtn.com/magazine/archives/index.xml> there are
several back issues available in .PDF format. The most recent back
edition that contains a comparative review of Windows based AV products
is February 2003
<http://www.virusbtn.com/magazine/archives/pdf/2003/200302.pdf>.

Hello Troti,
Sorry to show my ignorance and limited knowledge is showing. Could you
inform me as to how to read the "Test result"?

TIA
