even after changing the settings for scanning ( deep
scanning files and folders, and selecting the cookies
folder) microsoft antispyware does not scan for cookies.
Now i still have to use another program to dectect bad
cookies.

Note the "beta1." This means that this tool is not currently meant to be a
replacement for your current tools, it is a beta program that you are
supposed to test. Cookie scanning is not yet supported, however, it will be
supported at a later time.

Hi nlm,
This version of the Beta ..not complete, nor intended for use in production
machines...does NOT go into the cookie jar.

So you're saying the final version will?

I don't think we know that answer, but the product it is based on did, and
the counters and user interface are still there. My guess is that it will,
but nobody except a Microsoft staff person can say for certain about this
kind of issue. (actually, you'd probably read the answer first from a
journalist source--Paul Thurrot, for example.)

Hi Martijn,

I'm neither saying it will or it won't, as I haven't the answer. It surely
is a feature that I think we would all like to see tho.

FWIW, two items from the responses in the Security 360 webcast:

1) there will be another beta release
2) Enabling cookie scanning and removal is under consideration for that
release.

I can't activate the Internet Security Agent. Is this a
problem with the Beta version or is it just something
that is screwed up with my install?

I think that some folks running some other security-related products--some
of the newer fancier Norton suites, for example, have reported that come of
the agents won't activate.

Does that match your circumstances?
