Can I have more than one kind of anti-virus software
installed and running at the same time?

Installed yes.

Running - well I strongly advise you to only run one "background" scanner at
any one time.

Why do you think you need to do this? If you don't trust your current virus
scanner then why not just replace it?

Shelly;
It is not a good idea.
Often they will conflict with each other and cause problems.

Install the AV application you like and will use and stick with it.

Don't do it. Conflicts will occur. Pick ONE anti-virus program that you
like, run it regularly, and keep it updated. I use AVG 6.0, and it is free.

I'd try installing good anti-virus software and a firewall, such as Zone
Alarm if you want added protection. However, I too, would not recommend
installing two different anti-virus programs--they take up a lot of
resources, not to mention the conflicts that could occur.

Best regards,

Todd
