Has anyone noticed a lot of latency using this program?
In real time mode I suffered many time outs, and slow page loading.
My connection is fast, and it all works great if I disengage the antispyware.
Any ideas?

By fast I'm assuming you have a broadband connection, correct?

My guess might be a problem with the WiFi Connection security checkpoint in
the Internet Agents portion of Real-time Portection if you are connecting
using a wireless router.

But what you might also be seeing is a problem where the packets of data
that are being transmitted accross the Internet aren't getting to your system
fast enough for the refresh window on your system. If the refresh window is
not large enough (i.e., the size of the data file), then the system will ask
for packets to be resent even though they really don't need to be resent. I
discovered this possible cause from Call for Help on G4tv, Leo Laporte told a
person that was getting a decent download rate for local (Austrailian) sites
but was getting about 1/2 that for sites that were located elsewhere to go to
http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/ and check out John Navas' web site that talks
about tweaking settings to get a faster connection using broadband. NOTE:
In order to use this you will have to use the ping command to ping a site
that you are trying to view to get it's average ping time and then use this
value to lookup the refresh window setting that's appropriate from the table
on http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/. To do so, look over the show notes from

(search for Ben, the name of the caller that was having problems with latency
of downloads and viewing sites).

I had no perceived slow-down on my host at home when I installed MSAS.
However, on 2 other family members hosts, the network traffic was slowed
considerably. Uninstalling MSAS got them back up to speed. Since MSAS
*polls* for changes rather than intercepts them, and until there is evidence
that Microsoft changes this paradigm method of late detection (which is also
how WinPatrol works), I decided to uninstall it on my host, too.

You could easily test it yourself. Uninstall MSAS and check performance and
responsiveness. Then install again and check again.

Yes, and ... in case you have (e.g.) a webpage with a script loading
images (like an ad-rotator) MSAS will bang up and start eating CPU
since it will poll and check each and every request, you may confirm
this just by closing the copy of the browser with the "script page" and
MSAS will suddenly go "quiet"

Also check these PCs for undetected spyware/processes with Lavasofts
Adaware.
