Switching from one user to another in XP caused a message
to appear promptin a yes/no choice on replacing a
defauldt. Turns out it was to change my favorites to my
son's favorites. We answered yes and cannot recover the
link to my favorites. My favorites are still in
doucuments and settings, but I can't make them appear
with the favorites tab.
How do I fix this? Thanks.

Maybe the User Profile has become corrupted. You could try creating
another one using this method :
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=811151

Then attempt to import your Favorites again.

I'm having the same problem and am looking on here for a
solution!

I'm okay but my children have a pointer to my favorites
rather than their own!

Anyone found a solution?

Closest I've come is that the message included changing
the "default user folder (shell folder) favorites from
<user path> to <other user path>". I answered no but it
still did something to change the path!

Looking for "default user folder" has drawn a blank so
far.
