Suddenly this week I am getting some message in this and other
msnews.Microsoft.com Excel newsgroups that are clearly answers (the subject
begins Re) but there are no corresponding questions. There are some paired
questions and answers but clearly some questions have gone missing.
I am using Outlook Express with Group Messages by Conversation set on.
Anyone else having this problem?

Speculation: It could be that you retain messages for a shorter
duration than some other posters. They might be 'catching up' after a
hiatus of a few days and responding to (relatively speaking) older
messages. That might cause your newsreader to show the answers but it
might have expired and deleted the questions.

Bernard posted his question yesterday, and I see your reply, but not his
question, although it's in the Google archive:

Maybe some of the news servers are out of synch.
