I'd like to use my PC as an answerphone. Anyone with experience of this please ?

Software for this not included in Windows XP. However, you can surely
buy software to do this, and there may be free programs available via
download. use Google to find.

Your best best, though, is to look at the CD that came with your modem
(presuming you have one). Many modems included software that do this.
