Is there an answering machine add on that is recommended for use With OL
2007 either free or at a reasonable cost? TIA!

What exactly do you want it to do? What type of email account do you have?

To the best of my knowledge, all of the answering machine software that
added the voice mail directly to outlook only worked with older versions of
Outlook and Windows. Nothing like that has worked with Outlook for maybe 9
years.

There is PBX software that works with Exchange server (and probably other
mail systems) but this is installed at the server level. I use RingCentral
(800#) and YouMail (cell phone) to send voice mail to my mail client.

Yes that was it Dianne.

Would have liked a proggy that would integrate with OL and show up as voice
mails in inbox.

Is there a recommended 3rd party solution that does this?
I use Active fax that converts received faxes to pdfs and would love voice
mails as WAVs or the like.

I haven't tried any so I can't recommend any - faxtalk is one I've seen
advertised frequently and if any of my computers had a modem, I'd probably
use it. AFAIK it doesn't integrate directly with outlook but can forward
messages and faxes by email, so they will be in outlook.
