I have an Nvidia MX420 - 64MB, in a HP XT934, Pheonix BIOS 4.0, 320 MB RAM and DX9.0b. I have the old version of microsofts MX420 driver dated 8/02, which seems to work good except some of my open GL games like Medal of Honor won't run with this driver. I decided to do windows update and microsoft had a new Nvidia driver. After windows installed the new Nvidia driver V53.03, the monitor goes into standby mode (no signal), just after the boot up splash screen. I have also disabled the dual monitor feature of the card. Thing is, if I disconnect the monitor then reboot and hook up the monitor after the reboot is done, it works fine and I can even run the open GL games fine. I have also tried Nvidias own driver with the same results. I have the BIOS set to PCI and onboard video disabled.I have reverted back to the old microsoft driver until hopefully someone can help. Also, HP does not list any BIOS update for my system which is kind of what I was thinking might be wrong. I can send DX.txt if needed but not enough room here to post it. Thanks in advance for any help offered.
