There are several posts about problem with Sleep mode in Vista.
On my PC the problem was that when putting the PC on Sleep, it took some 90
seconds to wake it up. A normal start takes only 60 seconds.
As I understood, the computer was making a complete restart when pressing
any key after Sleep mode. There was a black screen for at least 30 seconds
before it started to load Windows.

Now I have got that part to work, well partially. I really don't know if it
goes to Sleep according the MS intention, because fan keeps running.

What I did, after comparing with the settings on my XP computer, was to
change in BIOS. The parameter Suspend Mode was changed from [Auto] to [S1
(POS) Only]. The motherboard I am using is ASUS P5W-DH De Luxe. The OS is
Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

However, now there is another "problem". The PC is waking up as soon as one
touches the table. By putting the mouse on a cushion, fix that problem. I
have tried to untick the box "Allow this device to wake up the computer" for
the mouse, but it does not work.

After reading several posts about this Sleep problem, I wonder where the
error is. In Vista or BIOS?
Do we know if Microsoft is working on the problem?

Oh my gosh, buy a new PC to get sleep working properly. Microsoft is
managed by marketing ****tards. What a waste.

To the OP, the problem is Vista. My own computer worked perfectly with
Standby mode in XP, but Sleep doesn't work in Vista. Vista needs to be
patched to work properly with newer hardware motherboards.
