At work my maximum resolution is 1024 x 768, but at home I'm at 1280 x
1024. So when I RDP in, my icons go all over the place. Is there a
RDP client that will view the WHOLE desktop but at a quarter size? I
know VNC used to be able to do this.

before you connect, set your Remote Desktop client to connect at 1024.768
You can find this by clicking on the "options" button and then going to the
display tab

Yes, I do that, but it still moves my icons around. Its resetting the
resolution at the server end, temporarily. I'll get home and turn ont
he monitor, login and see there is a 1024.768 section with my icons in
it, with blank areas to the right, end bottom of the screen.
Hence I want everything to be something like 80% size when I log in
remotely.
