I have recently downloaded SP1 (have auto update ON). I have now downloaded
QuickTime Player7. When trying to install it, I get the following error
message dialog box: "The Windows Installer service could not be accessed.
This can occur if Windows Installer is not properly installed...".
I have followed all the steps suggested in System Maintenance to no avail.
My system is: Windows Vista Premium SP1 running on a Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 GHz
with 2Gb DDR2 (667Mhz) RAM (The Windows Experience Index is 5.0).
Can anyone help, please? Carlos

Have you tried installing it by creating a shortcut to the install
executable, and setting it's properties to 'run as administrator'?

Problem solved with the suggestion by Mark L! I didn't think of it as I gave
"permission" when requested by UAC.
Thank you Mark for the very quick and accurate response. Carlos

Thank you, Carlos R. Your 'helpful' rating gave me the 'silver medal'. I am
quite repaid
