SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Visto Corp., a maker of mobile e-mail technology,
has sued Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) for allegedly infringing on three of its
patents related to how information is handled between servers and handheld
devices such as cellular phones. The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified
monetary damages and a permanent injunction to stop the infringement, was
filed late Wednesday -

Don't you suppose their cash flow problem is due to patent infringement
by Microsoft?

There exists the possibility, but nothing is written in stone as yet..

I think the real problem are the bozos in the Patent Office that really
haven't a clue as to what they are granting a patent. Remember back when
Lotus tried to patent a keystroke? Nowadays the only way to ensure you
really do have a patent, or that someone really doesn't have a unique or
substantive enough an idea, is to sue them. Sure makes the lawyers happy.

You're kidding right? Have you checked Microsoft's patents at the patent
office? They have literally 1,000's of patents in areas you would not
expect (i.e. door hinges). What do you think MS would do if someone stole
their idea and used it?
