Another problem is Sun doesn't remove old Java versions when you install a
new one. See what you have in add/remove and if you have many versions
remove all but the latest.

It's probably the install program. Move it to the recycle bin and see what
happens.

Hi Group
I usually find my answers from reading others posts but not this one.
I removed all the old java from add and remove
went to the Sun site to d/l 6 and when i was asked if i wanted to save or
run i chose run
Java 6 is now listed in my add and remove and it works
but i have a icon on my desktop jre-6-windows-1586
have i messed up by choosing run?
does this icon belong somewhere else or should i delete it
Thank you for any help you give me
