Hello,

I have had this issue for a month with it now progressively getting worse. My CPU restarts while I am "more often then not) using Photoshop 8 CE. When I restart, I am told it is a Graphic Device error.

I am using 3S Prsavage DDR driver...
on Windows XP

This is what I have done already with no resolve...

lowered my hardware accelorator to none
uninstalled driver and updated driver

Now, I did this, just this morning and it appeared to help... I took the side off of the tower to make sure the fans where still working, thinking maybe its running hot... Fans are working but I left the side off and I worked on it for about 1 hour using photoshop without a restart... Could it be the heat causing this?

It was quite dusty in there, which I'm sure doesn't help... Cleaning that out tonight.

Any help would be appreciative,
Don

what are your exact system specs and how many fans do you have? are there any fans on the graphics card ? try aiming a desk fan into the case with the side off

it sounds like your graphics card or CPU is overheating and causing the system to shutdown to protect itself

I'm out of bed and dressed, what more do you want?

I always take life with a grain of salt, ... a slice of lemon, ...and a shot of tequila

I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out

One more step to enlightenment ... but which way ?

2 fans, to answer your question. I'll get the specs tonight.

Now I don't have anything special going on with this, why would it start running warmer then usual. Is my Motherboard on its way out? I havn't added any hardware or made any changes to the original factory specs. I don't mind setting up a fan, but is there something else I can do in the long run to stop this from happening... Like added a third internal fan, if possible?

could be that the heatsinks are getting clogged with dust, have a good look at them and see how clean they are
