Another "Editing Audio" Question

I have a clip that someone provided me as a Quicktime MOV file, and
I've succesfully translated it to being a WMV file. I want to erase
bits of the audio track where there is cursing. I have very little
experience with Movie Maker. I do have a dedicated audio editor
program if necessary.

How do I go about doing what I want? I assume I can't use Movie Maker
to do this with the original Quicktime file but might be able to with
the WMV file. Correct?

TIA,
-Scott

================================
Open the .wmv clip in Movie Maker.

Drag the clip to the timeline.

You can play the clip to find the unwanted word,
left click / drag the Playback Indicator for a fine
adjustment...click the Split button just below the
view screen or type...Ctrl+L.

Split the clip before and after the bad language
and right click / mute the unwanted sections.
