Annoying Windows Installer!

I removed an old copy of Word (XP Professional) in preparation for the
installation of Office Home. Now, whenever I do almost anything,
the windows installer keeps popping up, looking for the XP Pro disk (and
PRO.MSI in particular.)

I can no longer locate that old XP disk, and now I cannot install the new
version! I tried removing some references to Office 10 in the registry,
but that didn't help. How can I remove the constant "nagging" and
install the new software? I'll keep looking for the XP Pro disk in the
meanwhile, but I'm not optimistic...

Also, trying to remove any remnants via the Control Panel didn't help
either.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Interesting gaff, though I'm sure it was unintentional.

Right word, but applied to the wrong poster. <eg>

Don't pick a fight with an old man.
If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

That's when you wish you could take it back!
No offense taken, but I would like an answer from someone!

OK guys...

At first I thought the link was related to the comment, so I didn't follow
it!
Out of curiosity, I did, and found that this was the "real deal!"
Problem solved... Happy camper...

Thanks all.

Dave

Good for you.
I suspected the first answer could lead to some misunderstanding.
Because it was the right reaction (and also a bit hilarious), I reacted.

Glad it worked in the end.

Unfortunately, the story is not finished!

I uninstalled XP Pro and the remnants of Office 2007 and now I get a
vague error when trying to install OH2007. I've even turned off all
options except for Word and it still won't install!
Is there anything else that must be uninstalled in order to get
word to install?

Thanks again,

Dave
