How can I stop the extremely annoying "Messenger Service"
popup's?

Another good one is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advance
d and add or modify the values EnableBalloonTips and ShowInfoTip to 0.

This prevents all of those message balloons that sometimes pop up from the
toolbar and which are especially a problem on systems w/o a keyboard or
mouse.
