annoying feature I'd like to fix: Word "verifying" block deletes

How can I get Word to stop asking "Delete block? No (Yes)" every time I try
to do a block delete? I'm used to WordPerfect and am finding Word
increasingly irritating. Everything seems to take 3 or 4 steps instead of 1
or 2.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK. Oh, the irony...
