Well sorry but i agree with mr Steele
in a newsgroup like the DEVX forums in wich i am also active , i would ask
for a moderation to remove such a post
If someone invites you it is okay to mention your product ,,, this can be
seen in the context of the newsgroups if someone is asking how to obfuscate
his program source it is okay for you to answer that you have a commercial
solution , and paste a link to your website in the thread .
however ,,, starting a new topic with the mentioning of your product will
anoy a lot of people ,,, and will probably resolve in negative publicity
,,, we have in our newgroup a person who has made a code converter C# to
VB.Net etc etc etc when someone has a question regarding this he will
show the converted code and pastes a link to his instant converter ,,, in my
opinion this is contributing to the comunity and totally acceptable ,,, what
you do is like those people who are calling me almost every day during
dinner time to sell me something ,,,, it is anoying and will result in me
noticing who anoy`s me and i will never buy at those companies ..... in
other words we did not ask you ,to sell us something and that is a reall
differnce ...
just my 2 euro cents
