I am unable to activate "Animation Schemes" - I can see them in light grey
"Slide Design - Animation Schemes" but I can not apply any. I have searched
Knowledge Base and deleted file QuikAnim.ppt (as per PPT2002: Animation
Schemes List Is Empty or Is Missing Items) and renistalled Office Pro 2003
successfully, but I still get the problem. Am I doing something daft? Any
guidance would be appreciated.

If you can create the timeline, then I'm confused. Click the normal view
slide, the workspace. The animation scheme list should become a deeper
bold/black. Select a slide object. Now select a scheme.

Do you have a slide selected in the slide thumbnail view?

Jonathan,
A long shot, but you are not trying to apply the schemes whilst in slide
sorter view are you. Or check in Tools - Options - Edit tab - if there is
not a check next to new animation effects, if so remove it.

Many thanks for your input. The problem was fixed as per Luc's suggestion -
in Tools, Options, edit tab the New Animation was deselected. Problem now
solved. That was very helpful and encouraging. Regards JKB

what I was thinking of there.
