When I am putting together an animation I want to see exactly where my last
movement has taken an object.I can click play to watch individual bits of the
animation but I want to find the exact position so I can decide on what I
want to do next.
Is there a way to do this?

Is the animation you referring to a motion path? If so, the Motion Path Tool
add-in helps. It will allow you to create duplicate shapes at the position
where each of the selected motion path animation ends:

this looks like it could be helpful but I get the mesage "Powerpoint can't
load mptools".
I've tried putting macro settings to medium and then to low but still get
the same message.
Thanks

tools have finally opened.not sure why it didn't work before. This is the
tool I needand your demo helps but I'm alittle confused am using it by trial
and error.by accident I've greated an effect I didn't intend to where I can
get ashape to slide across another like a sliding door.I'm actuallt trying to
build some walking legs but it's difficult because I haven't achieved the
right view for designing .I'm getting a duplicate leg rather than seig where
thelast movement stops
