191 Kb is pretty big. I don't know the percentage of dialup users, but they
can't really be ignored yet, if this is a public site. Is this an animated
GIF? Or Flash? If it's a GIF, it would be best if you could have it done in
Flash, so that the file size could be a lot smaller. In any case, as it is,
I would hesitate to put it on more than one page, so that users on slow
connections might have a chance.
Another issue is what kind of animation it is - does it loop continuously, I
hope not? Users generally really don't enjoy those. I just thought I'd
mention that; you're free to take or leave it. :-)
