Animated Banners and Newsletters

Am looking to create a HTML based newsletter with at least one
animated banner. Being new to creating newsletters, I take it I can
just design a normal HTML page and then send this via Outlook (not an
attachment).

Has anyone experienced problems with E-Mail programs and HTML
newsletters ? I will also make a pure text version and web version
available just in case.

What would you recommend to make animated banners. I have a number of
images that I want to combine together in a rolling display. Again
will E-Mail programs have problems with animated banners ?

Many thanks

Alec

I use FP03 for my newsletter and I use animated gifs. Do your news letter as
a 1 page html doc in FP not an open web, then click file--send. When the doc
goes into outlook the pics are always gone for some reason, just right click
go to properties and relocate the pic. As for animated gifs I use Jasc PSP8
which comes with animation pro. There is a free download for the animate
program on their website, and the program is really cheap.

It depends on if the user has their mail reader set to HTML format, or for that
matter if their mail reader even supports HTML format. Far better provide a link
to a web page with the news letter.

Banners might also be blocked by user's firewalls (since I think the firewalls
determine "advertising" banners by the size of the image, not the actual content
of the banner.)
