Anger at MS for diminishing Sound Recorder program

Hi all:

In Windows XP, the Sound Recorder (ie Window Sound Recorder) was
a good little program that could be used to record and do simple
editing.

I tried to find the same program in Vista. . . However, Vista has
totally diminished the Sound Recorder!. Now Windows Sound Recorder
only records, but will not play back or do any of the editing
functions that used to be in XP's WSR.

I am really angry at Microsoft for doing this. There was no
reason to dimish the function of WSR. But, they did it probably
because they want you to buy other pieces of software! Those
bastards. I am angry. This is total crap.

Vista is no improvement over XP. Those A holes at MS are bad people.

Sounds like they updated a program virtually no-one used and removed some
features that even less people used. Big deal.

If you want a very decent sound recorder with advanced editing abilities,
try Audacity - it's cheap as free!

You left out the fact that you can't save to .wav format, just .wma....

I read somewhere that the functions were scaled back, because they are
available in other Windows programs...

For instance, you can load an audio file into Movie Maker and edit it.

I want to go back to XP. But MS won't allow it. All new computers
come with vista. So, I can't go back to XP.

XP was a good system. There was no reason to make Vista. Vista is not
a better system.

It is just a rehashed XP.

Check with your computer manufacturer. You may be able to downgrade... many
offer that option, like Lenovo. The CDs are about $50 but it's a complete XP
installation with drivers etc.

true i agree it is cheap program, but i did a search on the web and found
one unfortunatly no cheap but i found a way that might be annoying but i can
use it for free as long as i want. it's called WavePad from NCH Swift Sound
it's about 49.00 to buy it, but it's real nice it's a professionnal sound
editor, it does everything like cross over, if you are like me a DJ this is
a wanderfull product, i wish i could tell you the way i can use it for free,
i don't mind telling you guys but i would hate to have this little bug get
back to the developpers of the software and find a way to prevent it. if you
e-mail me directly i might tell you. but i will ask proof that you have that
program installed.
if this is too much for you as a program, just search out there i found a
lot of free sound editor that don't depend on microsoft little hand to move
the puppet. in another words independent programs

I saw a post the other day that stated that you could copy the XP
sndrec32.exe file over to Vista and use it.... I haven't tried it.
