Hi
I'm on Vista with Outlook 2007.
Just installed AT&T High Speed Internet and all works okay ie internet,
receive messages, but for some reason I'm unable to send messages out.
Worked with Cust Serv, but they say they can't help. POP is
pop.att.yahoo.com (Port 995) SMTP is smtp.att.yahoo.com (Port 465). Gmail
uses the sames ports, with pop.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com and having no
problems there.
Can't understand how come I can receive messages, but not send out.
Error mess is "service interrupted by ISP" - they say no.

2nd PC uses Netscape 7.2 for email - same issue there.

Any ideas? Would appreciate the help.
Many thanks
Des

Ask your internet service provider about the settings to verify if you indeed
have the correct settings.

Hi Chester
Did that - and verified with the CustServ Rep that all the settings are
correct - also used their online help, and checked their documentation that
came with the modem - it's all okay- used the Test Settings and then got a
failure (while I was on the phone with CustServ).

They tell me it's Outlook 2007 - I'm not sure I agree - since I can send out
email but not receive ...

Thanks for the prompt reply - still looking for a solution though

Hi

The solution in Outlook
Internet Email Settings - More Settings - Advanced
and ensuring that "use the following type of encrypted connection" was set
to SSL (I had None selected). Took 3 support calls for the Technician to
spot the error.

Much more advanced to get this fixed using Thunderbird Email - if there's
any interest in getting that solution, I'd be happy to share my experience!

Thanks again for prompt response and suggestions
