Attempting Hi8 passthrough via dvout of sony Dig8
camcorder. Moving video displays fine on preview screen
until "start capture" which "pauses the Hi8 video and
replaces it with a still frame from the D8 tape on board
the passthrough camera. The captured clip is astill
from the Hi8 video. How do I get movie clips?

Unfortunately DV passthrough is not supported in Movie Maker 2 (see
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;814835 or more
information).

A workaround is to use the tool at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en -
it does support passthrough but is very rudimentary and only capture to
DV-AVI format.
