Hello!!
I have about fifty audio cassette tapes that I want to copy to the hard
disk. They do not need editing at all..The difficulty I am having is finding
software(free) where I can automatically split the tracks and name them for
later access and playlist them later on..Tkanks...Nick

As in record the whole tape to the pc,then break up a track(s) from the
original...Thats alot of editing & making of new folders, etc. Why not just
record
what you want to save to the pc,stop/pause the cassette source when
recording.
WM encoder 9 series lets you capture audio/video,get it

If they don't need editing why split them up ??? Just record them
separately.

Audacity will take care of the recording (its free, Google and you'll find
it) but I'd be surprised if you found software to split up the tracks.

Some of my cassette tapes I want to use the tracks to make playlists onto
CD'S later..Any way if you will search"Splitting Tracks" you will see
software there including Audacity..Somehow to me stopping and starting the
record process to separate tracks seems archaic...Thanks as your reply led
me to probe further...Audacity has a great page explaining transferring
tapes....Thanks,Nick

Nick,
Do you have the capability to put your taped music onto a CD format? I have
done this then used CD drive and Windows Media Player to download to.
Sometimes it will reconize and fill info in most of the time once you start
putting the info in then it will fill in the rest.
