I have the same mobo except A7N8X rev. 2. Maybe the "x-x" mobo is an
older version which won't recognize the xp--shows correct speed tho', but as
a duron. May be something you'll just have to live with and not worry
about. I'd bet it is running properly, tho'. Good luck, sdlomi

I teste with a XP2400+ (2G) and a XP2200+ and recognize
both correctly but not XP2000+ (A7V333 and A7N8X-X recognize DUron)

Thanks

You know, Duron has a chip with 1.6 ghz(so close to the XP2000's 1.67
ghz); their speeds being so close may be what's confusing it. What happens
if you raise the fsb just a couple of points--does it then show XP2000+?
Just curious, sdlomi

Have you checked it with some little program like cpuid?
Ive read of cpu brain surgery to change a duron into athlonXP, maybe one of
its legs is broke and doing the opposite.

Good thought, Andy. Hoping he doesn't have that problem--wouldn't it be
a nightmare? But since it id's the 2200 and the 2400, I believe that shows
promise it isn't such a big deal. My 2-cents!!! sdlomi
