I just noticed that my regular on-line vendor (www.ncix.com) has the
X2 listed for availability on the 15th of June, though no prices
listed yet. Meanwhile Intel's Pentium D 8xx series are listed as
being available on the 10th of June, priced at $365 CDN for the 820
model (2.8GHz) and $473 CDN for the 830 model (3.0GHz).

Looks like dual-core might actually be available to us mere mortals
soon, though the prices are a bit high for my budget.

Ya and AMD's chip prices don't drop like they did a few years ago, you
can wait forever now for prices to drop, but the chips do hold a better
value for re-sell now, 8 months later and my A64 only dropped $35.

I'll give AMD $279 for the 4200+, that's fair. ;P
