Just started with Vista on an Athlon 5200+ 64 X2 w/SyncMaster 930B. Trying
to setup monitor so that it's appearance looks like it did on Win2K (AMD
2100+) and Win98 (AMD 300?) for applications and topscreen. The current
appearance is very, very awful.

The monitor is a wide screen, 19" monitor. The icons are elliptical (longer
than wide) and too large, the text looks bad, and everything takes up way
too much space and ... I'm using the Samsung driver and my display settings
are 1280 x 768. I've tried to adjust the text and do other things to make my
web pages and Quicken look like they did under Win2k. No luck. I've tried to
fiddle with display settings and everything else that I can think of or
find. Can anyone tell me where to look or what to do so that I can adjust
the display output?

Another excellent reference you have supplied.. the AMD guy is right behind
Vista and states that with one or two more releases, drivers will be every
bit as rock solid as XP..

Did you download the Samsung driver package ? It will more closely
define your monitors capabilities than the default "Plug & Play Monitor"
definition used.
http://www.samsung.com/support/produ...e=DR&language=
*Download doesn't list Vista support, but should work.
Also note that many Flat panel monitors will not display correctly if not
used in their "Native" resolution.

A very misleading headline. The impression one gets from the headline is
that Vista is not as stable as XP and that's not what the article nor
the video says.

Yeah you are correct... but

he cant say the whole truth there you know....

MS electric eyes are watching... whoever bashes may get squashed... :-)

I bet there are a lot of people who would want to speak out about vista...
but they dont because of fear.
