AMD is competitive if you look at value/price in
most segments.

AMD is leader in cool and silent running low watt
desktop processors. Check out the 45 Watt 4850e
with 2 cores running 2.5 GHz or the 65 Watt 9100
with 4 cores.

Some of the 3 core processors look interesting as
well.

AMD also has some advantages on the chipset front,
e.g. the 780G chipset with the best integrated
graphics yet and a good platform for energy
efficient PCs or HTPCs

So if you want a cool and quiet running machine,
that still is fairly fast, you just might find
that AMD has the most to offer.

George

- who are very satisfied, so far, with his new AMD
based computer - except that the cabinet fan is to
loud even at lowest speed, when everything else is
almost inaudible.
