Interesting how stuff comes together like Lego blocks. A surfer-dude
physicist, Garrett Lisi, has probably solved the Theory of Everything,
the theory that will explain everything in physics; this will probably
put an end to the previous frontrunner for Theory of Everything called
Superstring Theory. He did this after a supercomputer solved the
equations for a mathematical matrix known as E8, earlier this year. The
computer used was based on Opteron, called SAGE, at the Univ. of Washington.

Mathematicians solve E8 matrix on which the physics theory was based:

"Adams says that the challenge was finding a supercomputer with enough
RAM (random-access memory) to perform the task. The group finally
settled on a machine called Sage at the University of Washington, with
64 gigabytes of RAM."

Description of computer system used to solve E8 matrix:
SAGE: System for Algebra and Geometry Experimentation
"It is a special-purpose 64-bit computer built by Western Scientific
that has 64GB of RAM and 16 AMD Opteron cores. "
