Hi Guys,
I need this proc for a Socket A system I am upgrading to have as a Seond
System. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I am in Canada, if you guys know
of one in Canada or reasonablr priced in the US can you let me know? I
already have a 939 system so please keep the flaming to a minimum. I want
this exact proc lol

TIA

Wow I just checked and theyve been slowly disappearing but now they
seem completely gone. Several places virtually have nothing only some
Semprons left and a Duron at one place. Xbit labs said they stopped
producing socket A proc so maybe theyll completely disappear next
year. I saw one 3200 at ZZF for $279 which is a ridiculous price.

Some places are selling the X2 dual core 3800 for $329 or so nowadays.
Better to buy a 939 nowadays or a 754 if you find a killer deal.

Depending on the motherboard, and the BIOS you are using, you
could try an AthlonXP-M processor. They are multiplier unlocked
(which is both a blessing and a curse). Newegg used to carry
them (which doesn't help a Canadian at all), but I see at least
they are still listed on NCIX. Give NCIX a call and see if
this is still for real.

I used this very processor, set the multiplier to 11, and run
200x11 to get the equivalent of a 3200+. You'll have to
search the private forums, using your motherboard model number,
to see what issues are involved with using it. I used a A7N8X-E
Deluxe with this processor, and other than the picky RAM issue
with Nforce2, it was pretty simple to get working. I can get
to 2400MHz without too much trouble, but leave it at 2200MHz
so it will be rock solid.

As the Mobile ships without a fan, I used a Zalman CNPS7000 series
HSF to cool the processor. The Zalman comes with a fan speed
adjustment, so you can trade noise versus cooling ability.

HTH,
Paul
