Hello,

Just wonder if anyone is using this processor and able to keep it cool
enough with the Fan that is provided?

I have been running this Prossesor now for ? Well since it came out,
And yes it runs quite hot with the bog standard fan and heatsink
assly. I got one of the copper bottom headsinks and the temps are now
46 idle
52 under load
so get a better heatsink and use so silver thermal paste, not that
silly bathroom white stuff,

Are you implying that the HSF that comes with the CPU isn't sufficient?
That would have been a pretty big botch on AMD's part, huh?

i.e., you shouldn't be worried.

Thanks WD sometimes in life things happen that way where companies scrimp on
the improtant 'little' things.

Its not a matter of the company scrimping, Its a matter of We the
punters always seek lower temps, The Standard heatsink is quite
adequete but the copper bottomed ones are even better, especially if
your an avid gamer or do a lot of inensive tasks

that's the whole point of the retail package: it does the job perfectly
adequately - which is why AMD offer a 3 year warranty if you use it.

there are quieter/better-for-overclocking models, but it's perfectly up to
the job.

AMD retail heatsinks/fans have got *way* better in recent months: copper
cores, etc.
