Hello group,
i am using a amd opteron multiprocessor (numa) box with hypertransport
interface & 8131 pci-X bridge.tunnel. my problem is that the efficiency
of dmas on this box is very bad (~45%) & all my dma access (e.g.. mem
write) are broken into 4word back-to-back chunks. the same card is
working fine on other boxes. also the inbound dmas to this card
(master, using mem-read-line operation) also encounter a retry for
every transaction.
At this point my understanding is that either amd 8131 is configured
'incorrectly' by bios or the HT link further down the road is. I have
tried browsing through 8131 specs but couldnt find much tweakable
settings except read line prefetchs (which dont help much). any help
will be much appriciated.
