Amazing CD burner

My friend got a Pioneer Dream ZPC in 2003. The burner in it will burn to
already written-to CD-Rs (NOT CD-RWs !), which my burners will NOT write
to. Is this ability a feature of WinXP burning software or of the burner
in that PC ? I want to know what to ask specification to ask for in
either a burner or software.

You can add to already burned CD-R's as long as the previous burn does not close out the disk. You
just need to close out the burning session but not finalize (close out) the disc.

He probably used software that supports Multi Sesioning (Like Nero)
windows burning software dose not support this.

CD-Rs that XP create are normally "finalised", which means that you can not
add to the disks after.

CD-RW disks are treated just like CD-Rs. XP does not make any differences
between the types.

Look at better software, like Roxio Easy Media Creator or Ahead Nero.
