I am using the MS essentials web hosting, which requires the use of hotmail.
The notifier is not working in Outlook 2007. I need to correct this or get a
hotmail notifier to appear in the tray in lower right corner.

Do you have the Outlook Connector installed already?
Windows Live Messenger can also act as a new mail notifier for Hotmail
accounts.
