I am in right trouble now I reckon. After taken the advice of the rollback
on the drivers that were updated from the MS Updates and then rebooted for it
to take effect I now have a major problem.

The PC boots up as normal and goes through the stages in booting up but when
it comes to the login screen where you click on your icon to login the screen
is black - nothing at all! No mouse nothing - I am now in sweat mode where my
life is about to go down the PC toilet.

I need immediate help and I need it fast - PLEASE HELP ME !!!

Regards

Try system restore from Safe Mode. Boot your machine and as it boots keep
tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Safe Mode is the first option. You
could try 'last known good configuration' (something like that) option but
if that doesn't work boot to Safe Mode and then use System restore to
restore your PC back to a point 'prior' to when you updated the drivers.

Try tapping F8 while the system starts up and tell it to use VGA mode.
If that works, use the system restore tool to go to an earlier point.
It is located by clicking start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system
restore.

Worst case scenario you can try this to recover the system as you can get
back into old restore points:

My display drivers as I have a problem in that when I carried out updates (we
presume) I get the blue screen of death when trying to play games on it even
though I was able to play them prior to the updates.

The stop Code from the BSOD was just a blank blue screen. I corrected the
problem with the blank black screen by following the other replies and
booting in VGA mode. But to actually correct the problem I re-updated the
Drivers for the Monitor cards - the ones I rolled back and now I am back to
where I was in the first place - everything working fines but still getting
the BSOD when I try to run a game.

Yes I pressed F8 and went in to VGA mode and rolled forward back to where I
was earlier and now I am back to the BSOD when I run a game etc. The error
report says it would include these 2 files as part of the report:

C:\DOCUME~1\YOURUS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERa2e9.dir00\Mini022007-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\YOURUS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERa2e9.dir00\sysdata.xml

The actual error also has the following:

KernelFaultCheck error.

So if he rollback ain't going to fix what next ?

Regards,

Two general observations:

- Never get drivers from Windows Update. Instead, get them from the
hardware manufacturer's web site or from the computer mfr's website.

- If a particular game is causing you video problems, try posting your
questions in a forum for that game. Check the game mfr's website --
most of active forums.

Try updating the video card drivers with the latest drivers from the card
manufacturer's web site.
