Please don't just put your question in the title, post it in the body.
And please do include the specific error messages.

If Windows Mail can't find the server, the cause is likely to be that the
server information is entered incorrectly.

Go to the Earthlink support site and see what the settings are. For
example, try here:

http://kb.earthlink.net/case.asp?article=resid7280

Be sure that you have *all* of the settings correct, and before you enter
your *correct username and password*, if you want to also use Web mail at
other locations, be sure that you go to the Advanced tab and select "leave a
copy of messages on the server", and "for X days"; otherwise, Windows Mail
will download the mail and empty the online inbox.

If you enter the correct username and password in the first screens, there's
a good chance that without realizing it, you'll let WM go online and start
the download and deletion process. If you leave a deliberate error in the
username, the connect will fail and you'll be safe. You can go back and fix
it once you've got all the other settings properly entered. Another way of
preventing this is to disconnect the network cable, which will of course
prevent WM from connecting to the server. You don't need a connection to
set up the account.
