Well, sine a repair for the boot sectors, it means there are some
files/folders been forked and you need to perform a repair/install of
windows, slipstraem the sp2 and other security updates and perform a
repair/install.
But before this try this steps:

remove/uninstall any USB card reader, printer and scanner and reinstall them.
Have a look in the vent viewer for error messages and troubleshoot from
there and also look in device monitor for conflict or malfunctioning.
