My website was doing great and when I went to publish it I had to change the
name of my home page. Ever since when I open my website it goes to the wrong
page and several unlinked files have occurred as a result.

Why did you have to change the name of the homepage??
Can you post a URL??

Your home page filename must be the same as that required by your host
(normally index or default and .htm or .html)

Ok so I went and changed my home page back to index. Now it is still going
to that wrong page. Do you know of anyway of getting that back to the
correct page?

you may have two home pages index.htm and index.html.
what does your host require?

Thanks for the post. I finally kept messing with it and got it fixed. I
don't really know what I did, but it is fixed.
