Click on the top of your folder tree. The root of it should show the Outlook
Today page

It does not appear to be there at all could this have been an install problem?

In your Folder Pane, do you have something called Personal Folders? If so,
then click on that.

Right-click the root of your Personal Folders. Choose Properties. Select
the Home Page tab. Check the box labeled "Show home page by default for
this folder". The Address field should contain something like this:

res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\1033\outlwvw.dll/outlook4.htm

(that's the Winter theme). Alternatively, you should be able to click the
"Restore Defaults" button.
