Please don't write in capitals.
What file type are you trying to import?

Picking up the thread, I can't create clips either. I converted a VOB
file to MPG. It plays ok in Window media player.

=================================
Ok...the .mpg is imported into Movie Maker...
drag it to the timeline and try saving it as
a .wmv or .avi file. Then re-import the new file
and see if it will play.

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Good luck!

Ok...the file must not be fully compatible
with Movie Maker.

Maybe you could convert it to a .wmv file
with the following software.

Microsoft Expression Media Encoder

That's something I suspected when Wmenc would hang up on the 2nd pass.
Is there any way I can avoid the 2nd pass?
Cheers-Herb.

If it fails on one pass cbr or one pass vbr then it most likely the mpeg
file is corrupt.
