If you really need very basic advice, my suggestion would be to go to a
bookstore and find a good book. There are several, so a trip to a real
bookstore will afford you the opportunity to browse through the choices
to see what matches your learning style. You'll also want to be sure to
get a book that matches the version that you have as a lot is different
from versions 97/2000 to 2002/2003 to 2007.

I am also new to PPT. 2007 end of January this year. Didn't even know what
PPT was. I suggest you do what I did. Keep clicking buttons and see what
happens. Great fun. Eight weeks down the line and I now have my first PPT
show ready to roll with twenty one slides and an average of ten animations
on each slide (some slides have up to fiteen animations) plus music running
across the slides:-) I am no spring chicken so if I can do it, possibly
could you with a bit of effort and using the help files. It's an expensive
product for it not to be used. Very powerful and very good. Loads of
questions and help on this newsgroup, but you must make an effort yourself.
Cheers.

Maureen
