i am getting this on my start up

      14th Jun 2005
a disk read error occured and will not go no more i have xp pro. in my
computer and i went and downloaded sp2 on my computer then it told me to
restart it and when i did it go though and checks my computer info at start
up but then it gos to a disk read error occured please press alt ctr delete
to reseat but it dosent it just go backto the same page againand again is
some one that can help me get my old desk top up again or is my computer done
for

You can first try,installing xp cd,boot to cd (adjust BIOS for this-boot
priority),
then at xp info screen press r for recovery,press enter key for password,then
type:CHKDSK C: /R When its thru type:EXIT Let xp start up.If that
fails,boot to
xp cd,select,install xp,repair this copy.With repair,all updates are lost
only,all
else stays the same.

You'll also need a new keyboard, one where the Shift and period keys
work.
