      16th Nov 2004
i accidentally unchecked the "always ask" box in the i.e. file download
dialog, thinking it would save unnecessary clicking. silly me. would
someone please tell me how to reactivate it? thanks.

It is in the Internet Internet Explorer --> Tools ---> Internet Options --->
Advanced ---> Browser section.

"Notify when downloads complete"

Robert,

Open Windows Explorer
Click Tools/Internet Options/File Types
Select the file type you need to change
Click Advanced
Check Confirm open after download
OK
OK
Close
