Hello,

I have recently unchecked the _Always_ask_before
opening_this_type_of_file_ check box. Now I regret
having done that as my mpg files are now always
downloaded to a temporary directory deep in the nirvana
of Local Settings.

How can I get this tick back into its box? I suspect some
registry science will be needed.

Your help will be appreciated

FYI from the Internet Explorer help:

--------snip--------
For the most security, make sure the _Always_ask_before
opening_this_type_of_file_ check box is selected. If you
feel confident that this type of file or program is
always safe to open or run directly from the Internet,
make sure this check box is cleared.

I found the answer somewhere else...

Open the Control Panel Folder Options applet from the
Start Menu.
Select the File Types tab.
Scroll down to the extension type that you want to reset.
Select the extension type, then click Advanced.
Check the "Confirm open after download" check box, then
click OK.
Click Close to the Folder Options dialog box.

Cheers,
Chris

Open Windows Explorer. Click Tools | Folder Options | File Types. Scroll
down to the mpg association and check the box for 'Confirm open after
download'.
