Altering information on CD when copying from CD

When copying CD's it often happens that either the cd
information is not found in the media library, or that
the m.l. chooses a wrong cd incl. information.
When I try to change this information
(Copy from cd - Get name - change information etc...)
the changes never get updated, and the cd information is
forever wrong. Why does this happen, and what can I do to
change that?
